Student’s daily routine

For student who take morning class
7:00 ~ 8:30 Getting up, exercising, studying at home, breakfast, going to schoolLight-exercise in the morning is very important. Then study and eat well. Leave home early so that you are not late for school.
9:10 ~ 12:40 ClassListen carefully to your teacher and concentrate on the class, your Japanese learning will be easy and super fun! If you don’t understand, raise your hand and ask the teacher.
12:40 ~ 19:00 Lunch and part-time jobYou will be healthy if you eat delicious food. Just be careful because if you eat too much you will become sleepy. Part-time job is a great opportunity for you to practice your Japanese as much as possible. Making Japanese friends will help you improve your Japanese faster.
19:00 ~ 22:30 Supper and homeworkJust take light meals for supper, healthy first. Do your homework on the same day, don’t procrastinate!
22:30 ~ SleepSleeping early is very important. Sleeping soundly, resting calmly, let’s get a good night’s dream.
For student who take afternoon class
6:00 ~ 7:30 Getting up, exercising, studying at home, breakfast, preparing for part-time jobLet’s do light exercise in the morning. After that, study and eat a lot of breakfast. Leave home early so you are not late for part-time job.
8:00 ~ 12:30 Part-time jobLet’s give greetings loudly to everyone in part-time job place. Use Japanese that you learned from school. The more you use your Japanese ability, the better it will become.
12:30 ~ 13:40 Lunch and going to schoolDon’t eat lots of lunch because it will make you sleepy during class. Check the time to make sure you are not late for school.
13:40 ~ 17:10 ClassAsk your teacher if you have any questions. Make many friends at school and enjoy learning Japanese in Aiwa.
17:40 ~ 22:00 Supper and homeworkOver-eating at night is not good for your health. Don’t eat for full. Just eat for about half of your stomach is enough. It is important to finish your homework within the same day. Mark anything you don’t understand and ask your teacher on the next day.
22:00 ~ SleepYou did your best for today so it’s time to take a rest. Let’s sleep early so that you will be fresh to enjoy the next day.

Local Cultural Exchange Event

Cultural Exchange Event with other school

Kindergarten, Elementary School, High School, and University

We conduct a book-reading/storytelling volunteer activity twice a month at an elementary school. You also will have the opportunity to tell the children any information regarding your home country in Japanese.

Cultural Exchange Event in Public Hall

Maidashi, Hakozaki, Higashi Yoshizuka

We also participate in a School Athletic Games Event in our District in October. We have our own school flag designed by students and we made it together. It was amazing experience for students who have never experienced such event in their home countries.

Cultural Exchange Event in others various place in Fukuoka

At the shopping streets, with others International Exchange Organizations (FOSA, APCC, etc.), at the local welfare facilities, and in several beautiful temples and shrines in Fukuoka

We drew a shutter art in a shopping street. This time, the theme was “Flowers”. Students worked hard on painting flowers while there is a professional artist teaching them how to paint.

Japanese Cultures and Rules

When entering one’s home

RULE.1

In Japan, we have to take off our shoes at the entrance when we entering home. Scattering the shoes will give the bad impression of “sloppy person”. So, let’s make sure to put and tidy up our shoes in place!

When getting on a train

RULE.2

There are signs at the place where we can get on the train, so let’s get there first! When the train arrives, give priority to people who get off the train, and when there are no people getting off, get on in orderly manner start from the previous one. No pushing!

When coming late

RULE.3

Coming late is considered same as not keeping your promise. If you know you are coming late for any reason, be sure to contact your school, company, or friend and tell them in advance that you will be late.

When putting away the garbage/trash

RULE.4

In Japan, trash must be separated and discarded. As for Fukuoka City where our Aiwa School is located, “Burnable garbage”, “Non-burnable garbage”, and “empty glass bottles and plastic bottles”, the three types of garbage are putted away in designated garbage bags.

Smoking rules

RULE.5

In Japan, you can’t smoke anywhere as you wish. There are designated smoking spaces in public places, train or bus stations, and buildings. People who want to smoke are only allowed to smoke in these designated smoking spaces.

When riding a bicycle

RULE.6

In Japan, bicycles also considered as transportation vehicles like cars. Failure to adhere to the bicycle rules can result in a major accident. Don’t do anything else, like holding an umbrella, listening music, etc., while you riding bicycle.

Fukuoka is the best place for international students to live and study.Fukuoka is very convenient and comfortable city for its citizens.Fukuoka is a clean and safe.From Fukuoka Airport to the city center such as Hakata area or Tenjin area it is only takes about 10 minutes by subway.Because it is a compact city, Fukuoka is very convenient.

Rich of food cultures

Fukuoka is famous for its fresh fish market, where you can enjoy fresh and delicious fish every day. Hakata Ramen is another Fukuoka gourmet food. And speaking about Fukuoka, it is impossible to remove special Fukuoka Mentaiko! It can be enjoyed as it is or it can be used as an onigiri (Japanese rice ball) ingredient. The way of eating Mentaiko is endless.

Livable City

Fukuoka is famous as the “7th most livable city in the world”. Being able to live calmly and take a rest quietly provides a great environment for students who want to study seriously. There are also many spots where you can relax and enjoy the nature.

Festivals and liveliness

Fukuoka is known as a lively city with various festivals. Many people come from other cities to Fukuoka to see festivals such as Yamakasa and Hakata Dontaku. In addition, many tourists from abroad gather in Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine every year. It is one of the most beautiful shrine in Japan.
